On Saturday, December 6th, a truck broke sending a
piece of a gear into the diesel fuel tank. Approximately
30 gallons was dumped on to the road. Waxhaw VFD members
diked the spill keeping it from flowing into the
grassy areas nearby. The road was shut down after a sand
truck covered the road with sand until later that day
when a cleanup crew came out to properly dispose of the
sand and diesel fuel.
